GIRLS ONLY SUMMER FUTSAL 2017/18
WHAT: Girls Only Summer Futsal Leagues
WHO: 7th- 12th, under 15, and under 18 grades
WHEN: Term 4, 2017, Sundays 9-12pm, 29th October – 10th December (6 weeks)
WHERE: ASB Sports Centre (Kilbirnie)
FORMAT: 5 players on the court at one time (minimum of 7 and maximum of 10 players per team), Referees supplied by Capital Football.
COST: $90 per player (for terms one and two)
All age groups will get approximately 40 minutes game time (as per the FIFA Futsal Laws of the Game). We will stick to a similar format as previous Girls Only Summer Leagues for each grade.
The main reasons behind the changes:
- Caters for clubs who struggle to commit enough players for traditional football
- Thousands of girls across Wellington have already been introduced to Futsal during FIFA Live Your Goals (to run again in September 2017)
- Links between schools and clubs can form
- Never cancelled
- Referee supplied each week – turn up and play
- A league to develop female referees and coaches, as well as players
- Individual player development – Futsal and football
- Change of focus after a full football season – i.e. variety, rather than 12 months football
