Miramar Rangers AFC Privacy Policy

About

This privacy policy sets out the types of personally identifiable information that we collect, why and how it is collected and used, and your rights to your access and correct your personally identifiable information.

In this privacy policy, “we”, “our”, “us” or “the club” refers to Miramar Rangers AFC Incorporated.

Personal information

We may collect several different types of personal information from you, depending on the type of interaction with you. Please note that we may collect more than one type of information from you so please read this entire privacy policy.

Basic information

Basic information includes your name, and contact information like physical address, telephone numbers and email addresses. If you are a current or former player for the club, it may also include basic statistical information like the number of games played and goals scored for the club.

We collect basic contact information directly from you and use it to provide you information about football and club-related matters. This includes things like upcoming fixtures, key dates, invoices and receipts, and club notices. You do not have to provide this information to us, but if you do not, we will not be able to contact you. We collect statistical information from match-day records.

If you subscribe to our Ranger newsletter, we will use your contact information to send or notify you when new editions are available. You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time.

With your permission, we may also occasionally share your basic information with our selected partners. For example, if you enter a tournament, we may share your contact details with the tournament organiser to help keep you informed about important tournament information. We will only share this information with your permission.

Player registration information

In addition to information you provide us, New Zealand Football collects player registration information using COMET, the New Zealand Football National Registration System. This includes player contact information, and potentially sensitive information such as date of birth, nationality, health and other similar information. New Zealand Football uses this information in accordance with its privacy policy.

We collect this information and provide it to New Zealand Football using the Friendly Manager club management system. Friendly Manager is a New Zealand company that provides administration system tools and software to New Zealand clubs. Friendly Manager will store a copy of your player registration information.

The main reason we collect this information is to provide it to New Zealand Football’s COMET player registration system. We may also use your player registration information for club and football administration purposes. If you ask us to, we can also update your information held in COMET on your behalf.

Further information about the information held in COMET and when we may access to it is set out in New Zealand Football’s privacy statement, available at https://www.nzfootball.co.nz/ABOUT-US/Policies/Privacy-Policy-1. Further information about Friendly Manager and how it holds information is set out in Friendly Manager’s privacy statement, available at https://www.friendlymanager.com/privacy-policy.

We use social media, including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. If you interact with us on social media (for example, posting on our Facebook page or liking or sharing our Instagram or Twitter posts), you share your social media profile with us. We only use this to interact with you on social media. This information is collected from you by the relevant social media service and is governed by that service’s terms and privacy policy.

Automated information

Automated information includes certain computer-generated information about subscribers to our newsletter and visitors to this website. This includes information about your interactions with us and our services, such as whether or not you read a newsletter, the time you read it, your location, and how you read it (for example, from a mobile phone, tablet or computer). This information is collected automatically using technical measures such as cookies. You can read more about cookies, how they are used, and their implications for you at https://www.allaboutcookies.org/. This automated information is usually aggregated with automated information from other people to present a high-level view of all our website visitors’ interactions. We use this information to refine and improve the way we provide information and services (for example, the layout of our website or the types of articles in our newsletter).

We use third-party IT providers to collect and analyse this automated information. We only use reputable IT providers, and the tools used to collect and analyse this automated information are commonly used on the internet. In addition to providing this information to us, sometimes this information is also aggregated and used by the IT providers directly.

You are not required to provide this type of information, and some IT providers allow you to opt-out partially or entirely from these technical measures. However, this may mean that we cannot provide you the relevant service, or the quality of the service may be degraded. For example, if you disable cookies or other tracking tools, our newsletter may not be optimised for the device on which you are reading it.
