TDP Skills is designed to create technically proficient and intelligent young players who can meet the demands of representative football. TDP Skills focuses on establishing and developing key football habits with sessions specifically designed to affect all areas of the player’s development in a positive way.

TDP Skills is available for players that are playing 9th Grade to 12th Grade this season. You don’t need to be a member of Miramar Rangers to attend TDP Skills, but is expected that all Miramar Rangers’ A-team players attend TDP Skills.

WHAT IS TDP SKILLS?

  • An individualised development programme for 9 to 12 year old boys and girls to accelerate the skills of the ‘serious’ Kiwi footballer.

  • Matching motivated, committed and skilled players together with highly qualified coaches.

WHO ARE THEY FOR?

  • Players that are serious about the game, who can commit to extra trainings each week, and are technically proficient and want to play at the highest levels.

  • Players with commitment and potential to enter Talent Development Programme at 13th Grade.

  • All Players who make their respective ‘A’ teams for their grades are expected to attend TDP Skills for ‘A’ Squads.

COMMITMENT

TDP SKILLS ‘A’ SQUADS: 2 x trainings (1 x indoor and 1 x outdoor) per week year-round during school term time.

TDP SKILLS BLACK and GIRLS ONLY: 1 x indoor training per week.

FEES

TDP SKILLS FOR ‘A’ SQUADS: $150.00 per term
TDP SKILLS BLACK: $100.00 per term
TDP SKILLS GIRLS ONLY: $100.00 per term

Via MyComet. Select the Event TDP Skills – 9th-12th Grade – Mixed and Girls Only.

COACHES

All coaches are NZ Football qualified. The programme is overseen by the Miramar Rangers Technical Director – Scott Hales and will be delivered by Stuart Widdowson and Alex Drummond, and Rosie White* (Girls Only).

*When international Football Ferns commitments allow.

PROGRAMME DIRECTOR
SCOTT HALES

Scott Hales is the Junior Football Development Manager at Miramar Rangers.

Originally from Stratford-Upon-Avon, Scott left the UK for a stint coaching and playing in the United States, then came to New Zealand where he worked for Central Football in Gisborne and Hawke's Bay, before moving to Manawatu and the position of Central Football Development Officer.

Scott is also the Head Coach of the Miramar Rangers Central League side and holds a NZ Football/Oceania A Licence and UEFA B Licence.

COACH
STUART WIDDOWSON

Stuart Widdowson is the Team Wellington Team Manager and the Head Coach of the Wellington College First XI.

Hailing from Harpole Football Club in Northampton and Reading University, Stuart is currently working towards NZ Football's Senior Level 3 and Junior Level 2 coaching awards and has a specific interest in tactics and the psychology of the game.

COACH
ALEX DRUMMOND

Alex Drummond is an experienced and driven coach who has spent the last 7 years coaching football in Wellington and Auckland.

He is currently working towards his OFC/NZF B License Qualification, and has previously coached at Wellington College, Forrest Hill Milford AFC, Rangitoto College, and with Capital Football. Alex works full-time for the charity Students Against Dangerous Driving (SADD), and is also an experienced secondary school teacher.

"I believe in a player-centered approach where players can take ownership of their decision making, be creative, and play with confidence in themselves and their team. My goal is to grow and develop as a coach, and help Miramar Rangers develop and experience continued success on and off the field."

Alex is also the head coach of the Rongotai College 1st XI.
